The Industry Exodus Isn’t Just Bad for L.A. — It’s Hurting the Environment, Too
The Emmy-winner and GroupM Canada CEO Kevin Johnson are the latest additions to the board of directors.
Emmy-winning music supervisor Nora Felder and GroupM Canada CEO Kevin Johnson are set to join the board of directors at the Banff World Media Festival.
Banff organizers announced the latest additions to the boardroom on Tuesday. Felder, also a two-time Grammy nominee, earned an Emmy in 2023 for her work on season four of Stranger Things, which included featuring the Kate Bush song “RunningUp that Hill” before it shot to the top of international music charts.
Her TV credits include What We Do In The Shadows,BetterThings,Ray Donovan andYellowjackets. She has also done musicsupervision on movies for studios like Disney and Focus Features.

Johnson in January became president of WPP in Canada, in addition to his duties as CEO of GroupM Canada. Before joining GroupM Canada in 2021, Johnson served as the CEO of MediaCom Canada.
As directors at Banff, Felder and Johnson will help guide the media festival based in the Canadian Rockies. The 45th edition is set to run June 8 to 11.
Highlights of the 2025 event include TheRockieAwards, which will be dominated by U.S. TV shows competing againstinternational fare,and Korea tapped as the inaugural country of honoras the TV industry conference and market spotlights the growing strength of K-content internationally.
As part of the Rockie Awards, American TV shows earned 54 nominations, followed closely by U.K. series with 52 nominations. The juried prize-giving at the upcoming 2025 edition in Alberta for the first time will combine theRockie Awards and the Gala Awards into a single event on June 9.
